July 22, 2013: Closing Day & Hannah's 1st Birthday

July 22, 2013 was a momentous occasion for our little family!  On that blessed day we finally officially closed on our beautiful Smithfield home--wiring funds from the bank, signing important documents at the title company, jumping for joy & feeling like we were sleepwalking through a very good dream . . . maybe even too good to be true, etc.  Hannah's special first birthday only added to the joy!  She started the day in a moving box, sliding around her new kitchen floor in a cardboard choo-choo train...ah, the space!!!  The girls were ecstatic, literally running sprints (Hannah was speed crawling at that point) and squealing with joy in their new “Princess House.”  Ya, we figured Hannah had been such an angel baby for her first year of life we’d just go ahead and get her a little something…nothing much…just a new house with her own room, own crib (first time she’d ever slept in one of those…big step up from the pack-n-play next to Mama’s bed), beautiful horsies out back of our fun yard, ya know…just some modest witto gifts, didn’t wanna spoil the lovely little lass. J

Our great real estate agent presented us with a generous gift card to go out and celebrate at one of our favorite restaurants---The Coppermill.  So after a very busy, eventful, fabulous day we picked up the girls and our little angels, Grandma and Grandpa Black, and headed in to Logan to feast for Hanny’s birthday dinner.  We all made ourselves SICK…literally…eating so much delicious, rich food so late at night.  MMMMM, Logan River Pasta!!!  It was a very special day we will not soon forget!

Hannah also got her very own, brand new, never-before-used, Cheerio-free, front-facing CAR SEAT that day.  She was immediately so much happier being able to view the DVD’s in the van that she had only ever been able to HEAR but not SEE up to that point.  It was so comfortable and clean in her spotless, new throne that she dozed off peacefully on our rainy ride back home.  Perfection.

She also got a new crib mattress and bedding to go in her newly painted (thanks, Daddy) crib.

Happy, happy birthday, Hannah Dear!  Next year we'll do our best to top your first birthday with your own private plane and exotic island.  Nah...don't count on it!  If you're really good, we'll take you to the park to play in the sand and give you a great, big HUG...maybe even throw in an ice cream cone!

Daddy and His Happy Mini-Me

The Dream Team

Mama wrastlin' her Tiger Tots...AAAAA!  Can you see that overwhelmed look in my eye?  You can almost smell my sweaty desperation...dinner at a fancy restaurant with two tricky toddlers...PANIC!

The waitress handed us her personal iphone so the girls could watch Doc McStuffins while we ate.  Helped for a good...30 seconds.  Grandpa scarfed down some grub real quick and then took fussy Hanner out to the parking lot for a walk where she feel asleep in his arms...how much do we love that guy?  A LOT MUCH!

Shoot me now!  :)

Grandma shares her pasta with Monster Madi...LOVE how happy they both look.  Grandma just smiles through all of our madness and makes us feel like a million bucks...like we're not the least bit embarrassing or out of control.

YUM!!!

My own front-facing, brand-new carseat?  HAPPINESS!!!
