Sympathetic Soul
For over two years, since Madi was born, I have been trying to capture and document this darling display of puppy love. Lily must be a very sympathetic soul . . . or have excruciatingly good hearing (probably the latter . . .acute, powerful little Chihuahua ears that are over-sensitive to high-pitched, pained baby screams). It has been IMPOSSIBLE. One does not reach for one's camera when your precious princess is hurt and hooting. It just doesn't seem to be the natural reaction. But it is soooooooo hilarious and heartwarming to watch Lily throw back her head and join in the bawling and blubbering with her own howls and yowls. She only cries with Madi or Hannah if they are howling a true-blue hurt cry. She very accurately detects the difference between a pain cry or a tantrum/angry/want-some-attention cry. When her soul sistas are in pain, she is in pain. When they hurt, she hurts! I only caught a teeny snippet of Lily's howl when Hannah was screaming in pain in the following video but it will give help me remember this heartwarming happening for years to come. :)
ABC's but NOT 1, 2, 3's :)
Madi's patience with pictures and videos runs VERY SHORT! She started off strong in this Tubby Time interview but then fizzled out and left Mama to answer her own questions near the end. :)

Every Letter Makes a Sound . . .
Madi has mastered all of her letters and sounds! She's been happily hollering them out for many months now. (We owe it all to Leap Frog's Letter Factory DVD...and lots of reading, playing, scribbling/"writing" and singing). We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE our LIVELY, LITTLE LEARNER!
Scritchy Scratchy Songs

Madi's scritchy scratchy cold vocals are too cute not to document. Here's a wiggly interview with my hyperactive Marvelous Madderdoon. OOOOOOh, she is a character! Love, love, love her guts!Thursday, August 29, 2013

Skip Ahead to the Magical and Enchanting
So I am definitely breaking with my tradition of strict chronological order to "skip ahead to the magical and enchanting" for this post. Eventually I hope to go back and document some "little" things that have occurred to our blessed family lately (Daddy's new job, our big move to our gorgeous home in Smithfield, Hannah's first birthday, Black and Hough family reunions, and many other happy happenings). But when you have a photoshoot this fantastical (it was actually a rather nightmarish ordeal with two terrible tots, props galore, waning daylight and many frustrating factors beyond our control...although we thought of EVERYTHING, even home-baked sugar cookies, chandeliers, an antique baby buggy and carousel horse...maybe a few TOO many things) . . .
All you need is ONE great picture to make all the painful prep and stressy drama of the shoot worth it and I am proud to say, we got MANY amazing pics. It speaks to how cheerful, optimistic, unflappable and all-around talented and wonderful Grandma Black is that she doesn't give up on our vision and continually perseveres to create MAGIC. OOOOoooooh, we love her. These memories of my rascally and cherished babygirls are so precious to me and it is so wonderful to have them recorded for forever through a delicious picture.
