Hoppy Easters

We started our Easter weekend with some fun festivities on Saturday.  Daddy was sicker than a dog (gave himself a bad case of food poisoning with a turkey burger he grilled) and was puking violently as he delivered for U.P.S. all day long.  Hannah was sicky, sad and stuffy.  But we girlies weren't gonna miss out on the fun, so we made it to Walmart bright and early for their free, fun festivities.  Madi met the Easter Bunny and was completely captivated!  She loved him so much she went right up and handed him her prized Easter basket.  They lined up all the one to three-year-olds on the big, grassy field out front,  "Ready, set, go," and Madi was off...til she reached the first egg and put everything on hold to slowly investigate, open it, and eat the treat inside.  By the time she realized there were more to be found, there weren't!  She preferred to find a few delicious morsels and eat them RIGHT THEN rather than collect a bunch to save for later...instant gratification...my kind of gal!  :)    The folks from Baby Animals Day at the American West Heritage Center were out front of Walmart with some of their fuzzy little friends.  Madi marched right in to the pen with the little lambies, baby goats, and a baby calf (which she promptly began pampering by picking the poop off its crusty tail).  She gathered handfuls of wood chips off the ground which she tried to feed to the animals.  She squeezed held a baby chick and duckling.  Oh, what rapture filled her soul.  Complete and total joy!  Hannah cried, oozed, snorted and sniffed in the stroller, but we weren't gonna let that damper our sunshiny moods.  We had one more stop before lunch and naps--Macey's and their great treasure hunt!  They set clues up around the store with treats and prizes...too much fun!  Madi was so hopeful we'd spot the Easter bunny again and couldn't stop talking about that special guy/girl/whatever-the-heck-that-fantastical-creature is supposed to be!

Sunday morning, sweet Daddy Rabbit had adorable baskets loaded and ready for all his girls.  That sweet witto bunny totally nailed it with new art supplies for Messy Madi, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, kites, a cute cardigan (pictured below), Tink Jammies for Hannah to match Madi's, and a pair of adorable sandals for Kaye, plus lots of terrific treats and eggs for our hunt later that afternoon.  Ooooh, he is the bestest and we love him so very much.  Daddy and Hannah were still so very sick so Matt took one for the team and stayed home from church with the girlies.  Mama was able to thoroughly enjoy the choir program and messages of Christ and the atonement and resurrection...sooooo wonderful to sit and listen with no tiger tots in tow.  I taught Sunday School and then headed home to be with my sickies.  Later that afternoon, we just had to get out to enjoy the gorgeous, spring weather.  We walked across the street to the ballparks and set up a mini-hunt for Madi.  Mama had Madi all dolled up for some cute pictures which totally backfired on us as she began to devour and drool chocolate all down her gorgeous, new white sweater.  We quickly revamped and stripped her down so that she could enjoy without reservation (and Mom squawking at her).  Then she got down and dirty with her sidewalk chalks and the sand at the park.  I kind of blew it with documenting Hannah's first Easter but she preferred to be held and cuddled in her comfy pajamas rather than posing for pretty pictures since she was so stuffy and sad.  We'll  recreate some spring pics of her later when she is feeling up to it!
